CSR Report 2019-2019

4.1.8 Developed, tested and manufactured in Denmark Idealcombi A/S is a Danish family-owned company that has always had its roots in Thy, Denmark. Approximately 95% of Idealcombi A/S workplaces are located in Denmark, and the family has a clear missi- on to continue to maintain the majority of workplaces in the company, in Denmark - and Hurup Thy. Thus, Idealcombi A/S continuously contributes to support and strengthen a strong ”production Denmark” and not least our own local area. In addition to good and attractive jobs, we contribute business and income tax to Denmark and not least to Thisted Municipality (Thy). Throughout the years, a core value in our company has been - ”quality”. We cherish this, among other things. for example, by educating own apprentices and trainees, and thereby maintaining Danish craft tradi- tions, and not least essential professional competences in the Danish window industry - and in Denmark. Our customers in Denmark receive their windows and doors with our own trucks. Trucks that are driven by Danish drivers, who naturally respect and comply with Danish driving-rest rules - at all times. 4.1.9 Education and competence enhancement In the spring of 2019, Idealcombi A/S received Danish business schools and colleges Continuing Education Award. This was done on the recommendation of EUC-Northwest and VUC Thy-Mors. These are two educatio- nal institutions with which we have had a close and fruitful cooperation for many years. We are very proud to receive the Continuing Education Award. It is great to be recognized for the work we do on a daily basis.. The reason why Idealcombi A/S received the award, can be seen below: “You work very systematically to train and further educate both your unskilled and your skilled employees - for the benefit of your company and your employees. There is a need for companies like yours that are leading the way and that can be role models for other companies. A systematic continuing education effort is of such great importance to both the individual company and the opportunities for growth in Danish society. Therefore, the good examples where training has been high on the agenda cannot be overemphasized. Other companies can to a great extent be inspired by them, ”said Michael Kaas-Andersen, who is the vice-president of the Danish Business Schools and Colleges and chairman of the WEU Committee. Idealcombi A/S generally gives high priority to the continuing education of the company’s employees, and we have in particular had great focus on the production employees in recent years. Being a production employee has evolved over time, and several facets have come into the jobs. Many of our employees have a role besides producing, for example, as a team coordinator or job coach. It requires several skills, including being able to perform in teams, know about lean tools and communicate well with colleagues and managers. We need skilled employees to be able to move as a company, and the wider we educate, the bigger the field that we can internally recruit from for the various tasks. So for us, developing employees’ skills is both a necessary and a good investment.
